The part where you were describing how modern day churches would have taken forever to sort out the donkey and colt situation really made me laugh because it's so true. Everything you said about how the many modern churches operate today is true.

This post can pretty much be summed up in this scripture,"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,..." Philippians 2:5-10. I find it interesting that this scripture tells us how Christ did not seek to make any reputation of Himself, yet today we have sadly many Christians who are seeking fame and fortune claiming it is for the glory of God, but yet Christ never did any of that and He brought God much glory and we are told to have the SAME mind as He did.

God bless and keep you Laurie
Your sister in Christ SateigdraS. In the same way, a glitsy pretend Jesus gets far more attention than the real one who actually takes away our sin. Thank you for pointing out that the common things described are of so much greater import than the things the world focuses on. God had a perfect plan which would bring about our reconciliation to Him through Jesus being the sacrificial Lamb.
We can only be truly in the Lord by acting on the Word spoken to us by the Holy Spirit and trusting Him. Our carnal mind can be our worst enemy because it will usually say 'Did God really say?'.
God bless you for sharing Laurie.Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16165344093549650260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8901842915517693862.post-35961648780355472062017-04-02T17:13:49.869-07:002017-04-02T17:13:49.869-07:00Hi Betty,

It is so true -- if we question His perfect way and will rather than obey in faith, we may miss amazing opportunities He wants to bring into our lives. May we always hear His still, small voice and follow Him, not our own heart or logic. I keep plaques imprinted with Prov. 3:5-6 above my desk to remind me of this. This is a lesson we learned on a daily bases in little things so we can be ready when the big hits. How many times in my life have I thought I had things figured out only to find it was opposite of what God had for me. As a matter of fact, he used to tell the people he cured to "not say anything" to avoid the fame.
A simple heart turned to him is what he requires. And trust that his way is the best way. I struggle with that sometimes, as my husband has been out of work for so long, but I must stay faithful. I think there is an unfortunate trend in the church to believe that Christ Himself is not enough, and that we need to arouse the curiosity of the unsaved through entertainment or other means. We have the answer and the cure for sin and death, and preaching that message should be enough of a draw to the sin-sick world. And if it isn't, entertainment, snacks, giveaways, etc. won't be enough either, because all of these are not only available in the world but are usually better there than what the churches provide.
Thank you as always for your comment and for your Easter wishes, and may you and Alex have a blessed Easter also!
LaurieLaurie Colletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10676088158113572565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8901842915517693862.post-68472846088570349682014-04-14T11:31:49.055-07:002014-04-14T11:31:49.055-07:00So true, Zim, there are many who are "religio...So true, Zim, there are many who are "religious" but who do not know Christ. My verdict at the time was that Jesus Christ should not be addressed as a superstar, but as Lord.
However, I was aware that there were some church leaders that gave the show a positive verdict, and their reasoning was that the show brought Jesus Christ to the attention of a very secular society.
Your article also reminded me that today is Palm Sunday.
Wishing you and your husband a very happy Easter.
God bless.Frank E.
