Praise God for His ability to quicken and to revive! Thanks as always for your comment and God bless.
LaurieLaurie Colletthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10676088158113572565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8901842915517693862.post-56147569837769239692020-02-05T11:43:39.550-08:002020-02-05T11:43:39.550-08:00Dear Laurie,
I am fascinated by the meanings of wo...Dear Laurie,
I am fascinated by the meanings of words, and sometimes am surprised at the way they are used. For example, it is impossible to revive something that has never been alive, so calling an evangelistic effort a revival is misusing the word. In the same way, you cannot rededicate what has never been dedicated. Too often, people try to rededicate their lives without ever accepting Christ. When God renews us, he replaces our old life with a whole new one, then refreshes or renews it every day. Praise God for that new life, and the promise to keep it continually refreshed. When we persevere in trials and trust in the truth shown to us in Word of God spoken to us through the Holy Spirit then we shall be gradually renewed as a new creation, growing from babe to maturity. God bless you for sharing your thoughts on this subject Laurie - nice post.Brendahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16165344093549650260noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8901842915517693862.post-52519800119932479322020-02-02T12:01:12.752-08:002020-02-02T12:01:12.752-08:00Dear Frank,

Richard and I renewed our vows in church, followed by a party at our ballroom, on our 10th anniversary, because we were unsaved when we married and were not saved until 2 months after our 9th anniversary. So we took the opportunity to share our spiritual rebirth and renewal with our friends and family. This year we celebrated our 31st anniversary, praise the Lord!
Thanks as always for sharing your experience and insights. And there is no venue bookings to be made, preparations to be seen to, or even the need to invite guests, let alone the cost of it all.
But having said all that, indeed, to renew our marriage and ourselves to God whenever we need to is, I believe, vital for a vibrant, God-centred life.
An excellent blog, God bless.Frank E.
